1. The Reference Service
Onslow County Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with an Onslow County office, a North Carolina agency, a court, a library, or a records custodian.
2. Acceptable Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:
- stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm any person;
- impersonate a person, office, or records custodian;
- collect protected personal information or bypass an access restriction;
- interfere with the service or attempt unauthorized access;
- violate a law, court order, or another person’s rights.
3. FCRA Status
This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing here, and no linked search result, is a consumer report. It may not be used to evaluate eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-regulated purpose.
4. External Services
Government portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search services have their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control their availability, content, pricing, or data handling.
5. No Warranties
The reference is supplied as available and without warranties. We do not promise that information, coverage dates, links, office details, or results are complete, accurate, current, or available at a particular time.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this service or a linked source, including decisions based on a record.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the service operators from claims, demands, and reasonable attorneys’ fees that arise from misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is permitted. Republishing complete pages or systematically copying the content is not permitted.
9. Term Updates
We may revise these terms by posting a replacement here. Continued use after publication constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Access Restrictions
We may limit or block access for a user who violates these terms, abuses the service, or attempts to circumvent security controls. This action may occur without prior notice where allowed by law.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina without regard to conflict-of-law principles. North Carolina public-record access is governed in part by the North Carolina Public Records Act, Chapter 132, but the statute does not make this private reference a government custodian.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
13. Questions
